The SALBIS Group Brings Science Week to Urban and Rural Schools in Ponferrada
On November 14th and 18th, 2024, several members of the SALBIS research group, together with professors of podiatry and nursing, conducted the workshop “What Are Your Feet and Balance Like?” as part of the activities of the 2024 Science Week.
The workshop was held at the Colegio Diocesano San Ignacio de Ponferrada and in the classrooms of Columbrianos, Cabañas Raras, and Sancedo at the CRA Alborada – Ponferrada, where primary school children had the opportunity to participate in practical activities that helped them understand how the condition of their feet affects balance and body posture. Additionally, new evaluation methodologies specific to physiotherapy and podiatry were introduced, bringing these scientific concepts closer to young students in an interactive and engaging way.
The activity generated great interest and enthusiasm among students and teachers, who appreciated the experience. At SALBIS, we are proud to contribute to learning and scientific outreach, fostering curiosity and knowledge about health and well-being from an early age.
