HEALTHY UNIVERSITY, TEACHING AND RESEARCH
During his time with the SALBIS research group, Jorge Núñez Suárez, second year resident in the speciality of Family and Community Nursing at the Trobajo del Camino Health Centre, has been able to investigate teaching innovation and new lines of research in the SALBIS research group during his external rotation at the University of León.
During his stay he has been able to see the implementation of the Healthy University, an ambitious challenge closely linked to his speciality, where within the commitment to community wellbeing they try to encourage healthy lifestyle habits in both students and university staff, promote mental health, physical exercise, active transport, balanced nutrition and practical cooking.
In agreement with the Spanish Network of Health Promoting Universities (REUPS) and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the Healthy University is committed to establishing smoke-free spaces on the campus of the University of León, a clear statement to establish healthy and protective spaces for Public Health.
The resident has finished his rotation very satisfied and discovering new ways of working within the nursing profession.
