I VIRTUAL CONGRESS ON POSTGRADUATE TRAINING IN THE HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT
I VIRTUAL CONGRESS ON POSTGRADUATE TRAINING IN THE HEALTHCARE ENVIRONMENT
Organised by ADEFIS and FNN
Panel: Nursing and Doctorate. Situation and needs analysis
Pilar Marqués bases her presentation on the interdisciplinary perspective of nursing research. She stresses that research does not make sense if it is limited to single areas of knowledge. Progress cannot be made if nurses do research only with nurses, just as progress cannot be made if economists do research only with economists.
Nursing care has a large person-centred context. For example, we apply care when researching how the interconnections between traffic lights might influence an autistic child, or the application of augmented reality to dance to improve the self-esteem of young people, or the sensorisation of an electrocardiogram necessary for a directive to have a check-up every night during her travels. All these research contexts need several disciplines to be carried out, and a nurse researcher can lead the way.
Interdisciplinary research will help us to achieve better results and a greater social impact because we will be able to respond to social demands. In this sense, hybrid and flexible training is also necessary without moving away from the essence of nursing care. Thus, we can go to forums on engineering, economics, law, etc., and learn from what they can offer us, and also show what we can offer.
The interdisciplinary perspective is an exciting challenge for nurse researchers. I am sure we will see it that way
