Nursing in today’s world: from care to research
On February 6, we went to the IES Juan de la Enzina and the IES Claudio Sánchez Albornoz, in León, to give a talk on “Nursing in the world today: from care to research”. After showing the pillars of our nursing past, linked to the feminine, the home / the private, and the religious, we present the functions that nursing develops today. CARE centered on the individual, the family and the community, ranging from health promotion to accompaniment in grief, taking into account the physical, mental and social sphere. We present finally how within the world of care there is room, essential, for RESEARCH, with several practical examples. We thank both the teachers of the centers and the management teams, for having opened the doors of their centers to show our profession to their students. Likewise, we thank all students for their attention, and their active participation in the debate that began later.
