PhD Thesis: Efectiveness of an evidence implementation model in clinical practice and social network analysis of knowledge transfer in nursing professionals
On June 14, 2021, our colleague Lara Martínez Gimeno defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Effectiveness of a model of Evidence Implementation in Clinical Practice and Analysis of Social Networks of knowledge transfer in nursing professionals” in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The aim of the thesis was to analyze the effectiveness of an evidence implementation model based on clinical audits and its impact on patient outcomes and on the level of adherence to good practices. Following the implementation project, a social network analysis was conducted in units that participated in the implementation project to explore social networks of knowledge transfer and utilization of nursing professional research.
Nursing professionals influence the implementation process by being part of professional subcultures and social networks that affect knowledge dissemination and learning. Therefore, it may be relevant to identify what relational structures or networks are created among nursing professionals during the utilization of scientific knowledge and what is the relational pattern of the people who influence this process.
